DEPARTMENT

The Member Events department are responsible for the members’ social events at the Club. These range in size from regular bridge matches, through to dinner and lecture evenings and the annual Club ‘Big Five’ events, Hurlingham Festival, Family Picnic, Fete Champetre, Hurlingham Fiesta and Guy Fawkes which can attract up to 5,000 members and guests. The department comprises five team members.

 

ROLE ARRANGMENTS

As Member Events Manager you will work an average of 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Please note that the role requires some evening and weekend work for which time off in lieu will be given. The role reports to the Head of Member Events.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

• Assisting the Head of Member Events in the organisation of the social programme and other leisure activities for members and their guests.

• Taking responsibility for a number of events and activities from Sub-Committee/working groups that may be allocated to the role.

• Assisting the Head of Member Events in the organisation of the member events in the Club Calendar.

• Providing administrative support and related tasks for the Head of Member Events.

Candidates will possess excellent customer services and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask across a number of concurrent duties and projects. The team work closely with committees made up of Club members and so the candidate should have the ability to communicate sensitively with a varied mix of individuals.
