ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER

The Finance team are a small, friendly team responsible for the Club’s finances. This involves, among other things, preparing monthly financial statements, paying all salaries and wages, recording and banking all income, managing the Club Card, paying suppliers and producing reports for the relevant stakeholders.

 

THE ROLE

As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will work full time; 40 hours over five days, and report to the Head of Finance.


The Accounts Payable Manager manages the company’s accounts payable (Procure to Pay) process, ensures accurate and timely invoice processing, maintains supplier and interdepartmental relationships, and oversees the accounts payable team.

Typical duties will include:

• To process payments according to the Club's policies and procedures.

• To process accounting documents according to the Club's policies.

• To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the purchase ledger functionality.

Candidates will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility and courtesy.

The ideal candidate will be either fully or partially AAT qualified or possess a finance/accounting certification. They should have experience in a similar role, with previous supervisory or management experience being highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a robust understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes, coupled with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. They must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential. Experience with Exchequer, iCompleat, or other Purchase-to-Pay software would be a distinct advantage.

The candidate should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
