CLUB SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Club supports a number of local charities and community groups as part of its Club Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme. During a difficult year in 2020, due to the pandemic resulting in a national lockdown, our programme successfully expanded to include meals prepared by our furloughed chefs for donation to the Felix Project, London’s charity against food waste and hunger. In addition to this, the Club ran a successful food box campaign, putting together and delivering over 700 food boxes to vulnerable members of our community.
Many members and staff have told us how positive their experience was of being involved in the packaging and distribution of food during lockdown and have expressed a wish to become more involved in similar activities supporting the local community.
This hunger for a more refined approach to social responsibility has led to the inception of The Hurlingham Club Foundation, the first of its kind in the Club’s 150-year long history. This charity will become the vehicle of the Club’s social responsibility programme as it evolves.
We will be encouraging members and staff to come up with ideas, volunteer their time and services, and to donate in order to support these initiatives. We hope that, as a Club, we can make a meaningful and positive contribution to Hammersmith & Fulham’s wider community.
